my language of the soul

time does heal.
i have proof etched into my soul.
extreme wounds now only faint scars--
mere evidence of how much a human soul can feel.
the visibility, though, a reminder;
the territory here seems all too familiar.
i've felt the hurt before,
but that doesn't make it any less painful now,
if not worse.
knowing that time is the only medicine available.
