ohio, cincinnati.

well I'm taking this leap of faith! I'm excited to head to the MTC tomorrow and to spend the next 18 months in the midwest teaching people about what is truly important in life: how much our Heavenly Father loves us and that He has a plan for us which includes our Savior, Jesus Christ.  I wish everyone the best!  Keep moving forward!

dreamy.

when you meet people you never knew in high school
and after one week it feels like you've been friends ever since then.
definitely not coincidence, definitely a blessing from Heavenly Father.
He's got a plan for us all and He uses us to play important roles in each other's lives.
my heart couldn't burst much more with the giddiness that came from this week.

promises to the future.

because
i am going to believe in a life where the
disheartments and downtrodden moments of
every day mundane life
don't tear us a part,
they stitch us together.

i know it's out there, and i am determined to find it.
because i'll start by searching myself first.

and then i'll search for someone who has done the same.

are you going to age with grace?

something life altering happened to me yesterday by a single and simple choice.  so i won this concert ticket at work. yep, a single ticket. i asked all my 2 friends if they wanted to go and no one wanted to buy their own to come with me. so, i had two choices: a) go alone b) sell it/give it away on Facebook to someone who would actually use it (because let's be honest, i wasn't going to choose choice "a") but after sharing my offer with the cyber community i learned that a good friend of mine from high school had a lone ticket as well. i still wasn't sure if i wanted to spend the time and go to see an unfamiliar band sing songs i didn't really know.  aaaany way, long story short: i almost didn't go, but i did.  and everything changed. (okay maybe i'm exaggerating a bit but it did refresh my soul a little and i think things like that are life altering even if it is only is slight.)
the show was incredible.  it didn't matter whether i knew the songs or not, because they were bursting with energy and i was on my feet the whole time.  this band really knows how to really perform--the whole crowd was engaged (even us in the rafters), my heart grew three sizes for the quality of dan smith's voice, i even appreciated the creepy/retro graphics on the triangle screen on the back of the stage. the whole vibe was just on point and i was thoroughly impressed.  on my drive home from the lovely bash, i listened to their music on youtube and liked it so much i decided to buy a song from iTunes but then of course it only costed $7.29 to complete my album. so of course i did. best $7.29 spent. i listened to the record on repeat probably 80,000 times the next day (impressive i know).  it changed me because it's been a while since i've listened to fresh music that is real art.  with real lyrics deep from the soul. this record is full of gems that paint a picture of what it's like to be human. a picture that's honest. because being human is wonderful, yet often there's a lot of pain associated with human emotion.  but that's what makes it beautiful, right?

All of your flaws and all of my flaws,
When they have been exhumed
We'll see that we need them to be who we are
Without them we'd be doomed

show me a piece of your history that you're proud to call your own.
tell me a piece of your history that you've never said outloud.

Changes on our hands and on our faces, oh, oh
memories are mapped out by the lines we'll trace.

EDITOR'S NOTE:
i remember when taylor swift's lyrics used to be like that
i'd say her new stuff is kind of cheap.
i mean don't get me wrong, i enjoy 1989, it's a good jam
but after one listen through the day it came out, i dusted Red off the shelf
and gave it listen. i was blown away about how the two don't even compare.
it just doesn't have the same dignity and artistry her old stuff does.
hopefully one day she'll find her roots again, because it sure was magical wasn't it?
she used to give us unrealistic ideas of dreamy relationships
and now she gives us unrealistic ideas of stabbing boys in the back.

up the canyon.
