vague and abstract.

is what my writing has been labeled.
and sometimes my english teacher tells me i should change it.
but what if i like it that way?

my words on this blog have been lacking.
maybe it's because i've been placing the majority of them in places else where;
writing essays, filling out applications, building porfolios and resumes.
the future is comin fast, and i can't wait to see what the next couple of months bring!

p.s.
(i seem to be more loyal to instagram this days,
follow me @__nicolemarie___
that's two under scores before and three after. annoying and abnoxious, i know.)

undated.

i found these words scribbled in the back of an old note pad of mine.

"i've learned something:
who you want to become in the future,
is a part of who you are today."

my old self was smarter than i thought.

broken.

i am grateful that at times like this
i have a word to use,
a way of means
to express human emotion--
to label the state of our souls.

this week,

i guess this story was very interesting.

Sister Dalton is an amazing example and leader.

I got the chance to not only meet her but chat with her

for some time after the opening ceremony of
the Internation Art Competition and Exhibit
going on at the church history museum.

it was an experience I'll always cherish.

happy equality day.

We, as human beings, owe it to each other to look out for one another; because we don’t know each other’s stories or what one person has been through. What we say could have more affect than we thought possible and we don’t know how someone will take our words. Just like the ancient philosopher, Plato, said it: “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” His words still slip into my mind and resonate with my soul every once in a while. How many people do you walk by over one twenty-four hour period? They each have a life just like yours: worries, trials, hopes and dreams. What got them to this point and where are they going? People of every color on the personality color test dot the earth. It may be hard to see eye to eye with a different shade but our story is only one out of the 7 billion out there. So what makes it more important than any of them? We should be willing to listen to other’s opinions or ideas.

scripture-a-day

ironic, really, that my insecurity is the amount of confidence I have.

"yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold many might miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever."
--Alma 26:12

i believe it and i strive to,
though i may not be perfect.
